Travel A Lot for Business? Make it Less Stressful with These 3 Tips

Traveling to destinations around the country or the globe is exciting. You have days or weeks to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Time constraints may not be that big of a concern. However, when you’re traveling for business, the luxury of time isn’t always available. Getting sick is one of the biggest complaints of business persons traveling to appointments across the country or the globe, not to mention internet problems, TSA checkpoints, and many other concerns. We’ve put together a quick guide to help you counter some of the more pressing hurdles of Traveling for Business.

tips for traveling for business1. Stop the Germs

With many thousands of people crammed in the same place every day, it’s hard for airport staff to keep on top of proper sanitation. Many surfaces are breeding grounds for harmful bacteria. In order to protect yourself, keep a travel-size bottle of hand sanitizer and a sample tube of Bacitracin with you. Why the Bacitracin? Use a little to coat the inside of your nostrils. Doctors say that this practice will keep many germs from entering your system through your nose’s mucous membranes.

Another important tip is to make sure that you personally wash your fold down tray. These do not get washed regularly by staff on an airplane; who knows what could be left on the tray from the person before you. Use a tissue and a dab of sanitizer to wipe those germs away.

2. Eat Well

Eating well on the go is always difficult, particularly in an airport, where fast food is everywhere. Here’s a tip: watch where the flight personnel go to eat. If they regularly head toward a certain restaurant, it’s usually a good indicator that the food tastes good and is good for you.

Also keep in mind good nutrition guidelines: go for protein over carbs, as it will help you to feel full longer. Make sure you drink bottled water as much as possible; not only is it the best choice for hydrating your body, it’s also sealed and clean from airport germs.

3. Bring your Own Internet

While many airports have their own WiFi, it is usually open access and not very secure. It’s very easy for your personal information to be stolen on an unsecured network. As a result, many business persons have taken to purchasing a mobile hotspot through their mobile service provider for their own private internet. A mobile hotspot can be a dedicated device or an available function on just about any smartphone. That way, you can have internet anywhere you have cellular service!
