Wakefield is a small town with about 25,000 residents located on the North Shore of Boston. It is about 25 minutes North of Boston and neighbors Lynnfield, Reading, Stoneham, Melrose and Saugus. Wakefield is largely a residential community and the main attraction of Wakefield is Lake Quannapowitt. Lake Quannapowitt is a large lake that is the primary source of the Saugus River and its beaches are not open for public use.
